Lil Pump has been arrested for a firing a weapon in his home, but the details behind the incident remain under investigation.
According to TMZ, the “Gucci Gang” rapper’s manager reported three men were trying to break into the MC’s San Fernando Valley, Calif. home at approximately 4 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 14). The manager, who wasn’t with Pump at the time of the alleged incident, said that one of the potential intruders fired a gun through the door.
When cops arrived, however, they found holes in the original story. Police say that the bullet had to come from inside of the house, based on its trajectory. An empty handgun was uncovered in bushes below the rapper’s balcony and ammo for it was inside of the apartment.
As a result, the 17-year-old was arrested for discharging a weapon in an inhabited area and he is now being held in a juvenile detention center, according to the report. Authorities say that he was also smoking weed when law enforcement officials arrived on the scene.
Now, Pump’s mother could face additional charges. Although she was not in the home at the time of the arrest, she is under investigation for endangering a minor and for having an unsecured handgun in the home.
Pump’s team is now saying that the burgeoning rapper fired the weapon out of fear, when the potential intruders were trying to break into his home. They say that the act was caught on surveillance cameras.
Pump burst on the scene with a flurry of tracks, but became a Hot 100 star with “Gucci Gang.” Over the weekend, he hinted at a new record deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Eskimo Records after his original contract with Warner Bros. was nullified due to issues regarding his age.
